How a historic hall on the Hembrugterrein became home to the pioneers of the circular economy.
The Hembrugterrein is a former National Arms Depot of over 40 hectares, located between Amsterdam and Zaandam. Historically it was the heart of the Dutch arms industry — cannons and ammunition were produced here.
The Affuitenhal — the hall where gun carriages were once manufactured — is our home. After Eurometaal closed its doors in 2003, creative entrepreneurs found their way to this remarkable site. We are proud to be part of that new history.
The hall spans over 2,500 m² and offers a unique atmosphere: industrial architecture with a warm, human character.
Society is at a tipping point. The transition from a linear to a circular economy is no longer an ideal — it is a necessity. And it is an opportunity.
Affuitenhal supports that transition by providing a home for frontrunners in the new economy. Companies that think about the full lifecycle of their products, that create value without destroying it.
We believe that collaboration and community are essential for real change. Regular events and an active community ensure our residents are more than neighbours — they are allies.
Affuitenhal offers its residents a fully equipped work environment: fast internet, free parking, flexible opening hours, freight access, storage space, meeting rooms, exhibition space, reception services, coffee and tea, a printer, cleaning and an engaged community.
But above all we offer something you cannot buy: an environment of like-minded entrepreneurs who believe in the same future.
